AUDIOVISUAL PROJECTS
-ENGANYS (2023)
Album published in Polygon Network (Bilbao) in December 2022. Mauri creates the audiovisual project for the presentation of the album based mainly on reactive audio, through programming. Minimal structures creating abstract and even rhythmic forms, go hand in hand with the own sound that Mauri creates in the tracks of the album, which sometimes leads us to intrigue and even cinematic bands.
-CYBORGS (2017)
Mauri ‘s album titled ‘Cyborgs’ is the most experimental at a musical level, made with Sonic Pi, Razor and Ableton mainly. It was released in September 2017 on Novak Records.
Each title of the album is inspired by a cyborg. The visual project is made with the help of Greta G to the visuals and was presented at Antic teatre (Barcelona).
-PulsOPtic (2015)
Audiovisual project carried out live with the intention of visualizing the music, thanks to three elements: the musical pulse, the visual effect and the images of Optical Art.
The musical PULSE is the basic temporal unit of a musical work. OPTICS is the branch of physics that analyzes the characteristics and properties of light, studying how it behaves and manifests itself. OP ART also known as Optical Art, is a style of visual art that makes use of optical illusions, which as in kinetic art, the works have movement or appear to have movement. PulsOPtic is the mixture of all this, where sound art and visual art are combined in a project created and produced by Mauri, executed in real time, in which music can be visualized through its extreme frequencies in dynamics and sound, mixed with images of “Op Art” and “kinetic art” with a hypnotic and rhythmic result. A visual and sonorous spectacle.
The resulting images are a mixture of oscilloscope waves with the works of Optical and kinetic Art that interact with the viewer causing a sensation of virtual movement through optical illusion effects, a situation that triggers a dynamic response of the eye or retinal vibration and a certain psychological reaction derived from its surprising appearance.
The album is released by Detroit Underground Records (2015).
-AUDIOVISUALMEMORY (2007)
Collection of videos published in the netlabel Audiovisual Theorem (currently Musikaze) and that were used for Mauri’s live performances from 2002 to 2007. The videos were made by visual artist Fran del Amo.
Audiovisual Memory was presented at Salamandra (Hospitalet), Lo-Fi (Gijón), FNAC (Oviedo) and Pub La Calle (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).
